Registered massage therapyRegistered massage therapy uses a variety of techniques to promote health and well-being, reduce pain, improve circulation, increase relaxation and expedite healing. This is accomplished through addressing the soft tissues of the body - muscles, ligaments, tendons, connective tissue and joint capsules. Feel your worries melt away as your therapist kneads your knots and calms your nerves. Time stands still as your mind and body releases tension and stress. Your mind and body will thank you!
pregnancy massagePregnancy massage focuses on the special needs of the new mother or mother-to-be as her body goes through many changes during the childbirth experience. This type of massage relieves many of the normal discomforts during pregnancy, such as muscle cramping, stiffness, tension, and knots. It also eases backaches, stiff neck, leg cramps, headaches, edema, and sore, swollen ankles and feet. Positioning during this treatment will depend on the stage of development of the baby - and sometimes a pregnancy cushion is used to keep mom comfortable and baby safe.
hot stone massageStones are heated in water and soothing essential oils, then applied on key points on the body (the chakra energy centres) to induce deep relaxation and relieve tension. The stones are then used to massage the body combining deep heat, Swedish massage and energy work, allowing you to enter a deep state of relaxation. This treatment is particularly useful for:
shiatsuA traditional Japanese treatment, Shiatsu involves pressure applied to specific energy points (meridians) on the body to promote good health by 'stimulating the body’s energy flow (Ki)'. The therapist applies pressure from the hands, arms, elbows and knees and this treatment can be done fully clothed.
traditional thai massageThai Massage is a unique & powerful therapy, combining acupressure, gentle stretching and passive yoga. Thai massage has yoga roots from northern India and has been practiced in Thailand for thousands of years.
