The unrefined Guerande sea salt is of a light grey colour because of the clay from the salt flats. Some say it is probably the best sea salt on the planet. With nothing added and nothing removed, all are mineral-rich, unrefined, unbleached and chemical-free, just the way nature intended. Unlike refined sea salt that is always a clinical pure white colour (like white sugar), grey sea salt does vary in colour from light grey to off-white. The colour variation for the grey sea salt depends on the collector’s (Pauludier’s) technique, the gathering time and the texture of the bottom of the saltpans. Our sea salts are naturally sun-dried and provide a full spectrum matrix of minerals and micronutrients. These minerals are naturally present in our bodies and are essential to all biological processes.
